A new community library for a Baton Rouge neighborhood. The design focused on creating a voluminous space to contain the library's collection, allowing one to view and understand the relationship of scale from collection as a whole down to individual books. This approach resulted in creation of a large free-form steel structure morphed into tusks for personality. Prompting one of the conservative jurors to comment "I'd have to yank my steering wheel and crash into it." - Now that's passion.
